Jamie Nance is a personal injury lawyer who represents victims of automobile accidents, complex medical malpractice, and other forms of professional negligence. He is also a native Floridian who, after obtaining his degree in Virginia, returned to work for nearly seven years with a large, prominent south Florida personal injury law firm. He joined Nance Cacciatore in 1996 and, over the course of his career, has handled many cases that have resulted in large settlements or verdicts. In one case, the parents of a severely brain-damaged child settled for more than $8 million.

In 1991, Mr. Nance obtained a $10.8 million verdict on behalf of the family of a teenage girl who was shot by her boyfriend. He had been playing with a gun that belonged to the owner of the home where she was killed. This outstanding verdict sends a clear message about the need for responsible handling of weapons by users and owners of guns.

Most recently, he and his partner Sammy Cacciatore obtained a $5 million verdict for the parents of a 19-year-old woman who was tragically killed while jogging by a speeding dump truck. The verdict itself was outstanding, being one of the largest in state history for a case of this nature. But it was even more unique because it forced a giant within the insurance industry to pay millions over its policy coverage for failing to, in good faith, protect its insured, the dump truck company, from this large verdict.

Active in several legal organizations, Mr. Nance became Board Certified as a specialist in Civil Trial Law in 1995 by the Florida Bar and in 2002 he became Board Certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has served the Florida Bar as a reviewer of examinations submitted by other attorneys seeking Board Certification as well as serving on the Florida Bar's Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Florida Justice Association and has been active with the Brevard County Bar Association. Additionally, he has been rated "AV Preeminent" by the Peer Review section of the 140-year old Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory.

Locally, he is the Chairman of the Brevard County Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, has served on the Board of Directors of the Brevard Zoo, as well as the Downtown Melbourne Architectural Review Board. Additionally, he is a member of the Downtown Melbourne Association, the Coastal Conservation Association, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and is a Lifetime Member of the Safari Club International. He is also proactive with the Wildlands Network and the National Resources Defense Council.
