You may have received a little card in the mail stating that you are eligible to join a class-action lawsuit. You may have read the itty-bitty print telling you about the lawsuit, why you may be eligible, and what you need to do to join the lawsuit. Or, you may have tossed it in your recycle bin because it looked confusing. Seriously, do they use size four font on those cards? Nance Cacciatore is here to explain class action lawsuits and remove the mystery of them for you!
Explanation of a Class Action Lawsuit
According to www.alllaw.com, a class action lawsuit is a lawsuit in which people who have suffered a similar loss or injury bring a single, collective case against the responsible party. These people may or may not know each other. For example, in cases in which a neighborhood has contaminated water causing health issues, many people that are affected may know each other. But, in a case in which medication has been found to cause health issues, the people will likely be from all over the United States.
You may have seen commercials on television lately regarding this lawsuit. We are currently taking cases for the Zantac lawsuits. If you took Zantac for a period of six months or longer and have been diagnosed with cancer since that time, then please give us a call. We can determine if you are eligible to join this class action lawsuit.
Talcum Powder Lawsuit
There is a current class-action lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson on behalf of women who have developed reproductive cancer (i.e. uterine, fallopian tube, etc.) after regular use of their talcum-based powder or Shower to Shower powder product over a period of five years. According to www.sullolaw.com, Johnson & Johnson has made a cornstarch-based powder, as well, since 1980. This powder is not part of the lawsuit as talc is the ingredient possibly causing issues.
